THANK YOU TO Uihlein-Ironman Sports Fund for supporting the NYSEF Nordic program with funding to purchase team ski!

(Taken from Adirondack Foundation website). The Uihlein-Ironman Sports Fund (UISF) of Lake Placid was created by the Henry Uihlein II and Mildred A. Uihlein Foundation, Ironman North America (now known as World Triathlon Corporation), and Adirondack Foundation. These local organizations have teamed up to help athletes from Lake Placid and the Olympic region achieve their sports dreams, and to help nonprofit organizations that foster and promote life-long sports and healthy lifestyles for local kids. The Sports Fund managed through the Adirondack Foundation.

NYSEF will be able to ensure the safety and trail worthiness of equipment with this funding. One of the single largest variables when kids show up to ski or race is the condition of their skis and whether the skis are intended for that day’s race. With new skis, we hope to encourage more youth athletes to participate in the sport without the burden of expenses—like purchasing a proper set of race skis.

NYSEF Nordic is motivated to grow participation locally and give each athlete the best experience possible. Whether the athlete is a U10 and putting skis on for the first time, or a U20 that has qualified for an international trip, our outcome goals are not necessarily results based on the race course, but based on successfully developing our athletes to be well rounded individuals in and out of competition.

Thank you again for the continued support of NYSEF and our programs!
