On Saturday, September 14, NYSEF/Northwood hosted a Stop the Bleed Spin-a-Thon during the Adirondack Rollerski Series (in the parking lot of the Olympic Ski Jumping Complex in Lake Placid). Several junior athletes, coaches plus some toddlers hopped on the spin bikes to raise money for the stop the bleed program in partnership with the Kelly Brush Foundation (KBF). With rapid developments in alpine ski technology and tuning techniques there has been a dramatic increase in life-threatening lacerations to young ski racers around the world. NYSEF, Northwood and the KBF are dedicated to training coaches and distribute life-saving bleeding control kits to alpine ski programs around the country.

The NYSEF/Northwood team raised over $4,000 towards this special program. Thank you to everyone who supported this program by spinning or through a donation. To learn more about the stop the bleed program visit kellybrushfoundation.org/skiracingsafety/stop-the-bleed.
