2017 XC Junior National Champoinships

NYSEF Nordic athletes are excited to have the 2017 USSA XC Junior National Championships in Lake Placid this March! This is the premier junior event each winter and will feature over 350 of the fastest athletes ages 14-19 in the nation. Junior Nationals rotates between the 10 divisions and makes a stop in Lake Placid roughly every 15 years. ORDA is working hard to make this a truly special event that athletes, coaches, parents and fans will remember for years to come.

Leading the team are USSA All-American skiers Karl Schulz (UVM), Bryce Hartman (UNH), Henry McGrew, Everett Sapp, Scott Schulz and Lucy Hochschartner (SLU) who have each posted top 10 finishes at Junior Nationals. NYSEF athletes racing with previous JN experience include Eric Houck, Royal McDonnell, Ethan Wood, Lauchie Cheney-Seymour and Jackie Garso (SLU). Young, strong and energetic, NYSEF U16 athletes that qualified for their first Mid-Atlantic Junior National Team include James Flanigan, Kai Frantz, Jesse Izzo, Joseph Wilson, Colton Martin and Sylvie Linck.

As a club, NYSEF finished 13th in 2015 and 10th in 2016 out of 60+ clubs. Both the boys and girls team will be looking for a top 8 club finish in 2017.
