Beckett Ledger Joins US Nordic Combined Team in Europe
Beckett Ledger, NYSEF/Northwood School athlete, gives a play-by-play of his time in Slovenia with the US Nordic Combined Team. Read below to follow his travels.
Day 1:
I started my travel day on Monday afternoon (eastern time) and ended on Tuesday afternoon (European time).
Once in Slovenia Taylor Fletcher and I were picked up by our coach Martin at the airport and dropped off at the apartments the team is living in for the fall. I got everything where it needed to be and went for a little run around the little town called Ratece that we are in and up to one of the 4 jumping complexes we will be training at this trip- Planica.
Day 2:
We started off the day with a jump session on Kranj, a very fun hs109 (k100) where I was able to make some small changes but it was definitely difficult to jump my best after a long travel day.
The rest of the team then went to do rollerski intervals while I went to Dali to get measured for a new jump suit.
When I got back I went for an easy rollerski to wake everything up a bit more. I skied for 90 minutes and followed the bike path that mostly parallels the main road into Italy and skied almost to St. Anton and then back.
Stay tuned for more details from Beckett’s European adventure.
