40th Anniversary of the 1980 Olympics: Hang out with NYSEF!

NYSEF Families:

Lake Placid is celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the 1980 Olympics beginning February 13. Below are some events we hope you can attend. Excited to celebrate!

Friday, February 14

4:45 PM: Participate in the 40th Anniversary Olympic Parade! Lineup is at 4:45 PM on the ground floor of High Peaks Resort! Wear your NYSEF gear and look out for the NYSEF Panel in the line up! The parade will go to the box office at the Conference Center.

6:00 PM: Opening Ceremony at the Lake Placid Horse Show with fireworks and the official torch lighting.

Sunday, February 16

1:00 PM: Discover Biathlon with NYSEF Olympian, Tim Burke at Mt Van Hoevenberg.

Monday, February 17

4 – 6:00 PM: NYSEF is hosting the “Fun Zone” at Mid’s Park. Come hang out with Winter Term athletes and talk snowsports!

7:00 PM: Past, present, and future athletes and Olympic medalists gather to share their memories and experiences at Lake Placid Center for the Arts. Current NYSEF athlete, Van Ledger and Olympian, Tim Burke will be part of the forum!

Wednesday, February 19

2:30 PM: Last Chair at Whiteface with Olympians, Andrew Weibrecht and Thomas Vonn. Take a run and join them and Olympian, Tommy Biesemeyer at the Cloudspin Lounge for refreshments and 80’s music with Sound King DJ. Please register at the Guest Services desk at Whiteface if you plan to attend. We will meet outside the NYSEF building at 2:30 PM.
