2007-2008 NYSEF Whiteface Alpine Masters Program

We are happy to announce the rebirth of our Alpine Masters program for 2007-2008.  Terence Fogarty, of Saranac Lake has agreed to sign on as our head Masters coach and is committed to raising this program to a new level.  Thomas Erhard, the NYSEF Alpine Program Director will assist Terence from time to time.

It is our goal to offer a flexible program designed to:

  • Provide Masters Racers from around the area with the opportunity to pursue their personal objectives in ski racing regardless of skill level.
  •

  • Focus on developing and enhancing the fundamental technical and tactical skills necessary to ski race or just to become a better skier taking into consideration different learning styles and abilities
  •

  • Provide a planned schedule of training both at Whiteface Mountain (Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays) and at Mount Pisgah (6 pm on Wednesday nights starting Jan.3) and racing opportunities for Masters with different schedules.
  •

  • Have a whole bunch of fun pursuing the dream!

    Master Racing

We encourage you to participate in some racing although it is by no means mandatory.  See coach for details.

Racing is a lot of fun and can be a great social activity!

If you plan on racing at USSA sanctioned races, you must hold a USSA license (www.ussa.org) and be a member of NYSSRA (www.nyssra.org).  The USSA membership provides you with additional health and disability insurance should you ever be injured in a sanctioned event.

2008 NYSEF Masters Summer Camp – Mt. Hood, Oregon

We are going to try to involve a current US Ski Team member as a coach in addition to our NYSEF staff.
