LOCAL NYSEF ATHLETES MAKE JUNIOR NATIONALS IN UTAH

The New York Ski Educational Foundation (NYSEF) is excited to announce the 2018 U.S. Ski & Snowboard Cross Country Junior National Championship (Junior Nationals) roster for Solider Hollow, Utah. NYSEF Cross Country athletes qualified for Junior Nationals in the Mid-Atlantic Division through several race events that took place in the 2017-2018 Season. Junior Nationals will take place March 3 through March 10. Athletes in the U16, U18 and U20 age groups will be heading out west next month! Below is the tentative schedule for Junior Nationals:

  • March 3-5 – Official training
  • March 6 – Interval Start Classic
  • March 7 – Sprint Freestyle
  • March 9 – Mass Start Freestyle
  • March 10 – Relay (3 x 3) Classic, banquet

In the U16 Men Division, Lake Placid home boys, James Flanigan and Van Ledger joined NYSEF’s Winter Term this season. This program allows aspiring student-athletes the opportunity to pursue their athletics at an advanced level while continuing remotely in their home school’s academic curricula, providing an avenue to excel academically and athletically. Flanigan and Ledger are also training in biathlon and working hard to excel in their designated winter sports while staying up to speed in the classroom.
