Helmets are Required!
Course: 8 miles up the scenic Whiteface Mountain Veteran's Memorial Highway, with an average 8% grade. The first three miles of the course may have vehicular traffic. Stay in right-hand lane until the toll booth.
Start: 8:00 a.m.- Start line at junction of Routes 86 and 431 in Wilmington. Four waves will be launched by age group.
Race Packet Pickup : Saturday September 13th from 6:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. at the NYSEF Training Center located next to the Whiteface Mountain Base Lodge. (It's a log building).
Transportation Back Down : You can have someone waiting for you at the top, the toll booth will charge the group rate of $5 per person, or you can ride down at your own risk following pacing marshals (min. 2 brakes required). No one will be allowed to descend until the race is over.
Refreshments: You are responsible for your own fluid needs during the race. No aid stations will be provided along the route. Don't forget to pack warm clothes for the top. A vehicle will be provided to bring packs up for you.
Results : Results will be posted by 11:30 a.m. at the after race party and award ceremony at the NYSEF Training Center at Whiteface Mountain. The race will be timed for two hours.
Awards : Awards will be handed out to the men's and women's overall winners and to the top three riders in each age group. The award ceremony will be at 11:30 a.m. at the after race party at the NYSEF Training Center. |
